using a 12 volt car battery with a charger connected for a power supply in the house?

I would like to use a 12 volt car battery with a charger in the house to power a 2 mtr fm transceiver,, now should i feel comfortable and safe from any noxious dangerous fumes, from the battery? should i put the battery outdoors? and run wires to it? i can do that ofcourse. just b easier to leave it in the house. unless it is to dangerous

    No, you should not use a car battery indoors.

    You can get sealed marine lead acid batteries that are safe indoors.

    Technicaly yes you could do that, The battery will act as a Filter/Buffer for the HUM generated by the charger. However When a lead acid battery is charged it produces several gases some of which are very volitile !!! Place the battery outside the window or something, In fact you could place it outdoors with a solar charger and be On the air even during major power outages !

    I would never do that. It’s a waste of effort, along with the physical problems.
    On 2mtr FM, you are probably at best using a 50 W transmitter.
    It is a far healthier proposition to purchase/ build a mains power supply for the job.
