Our car battery runs down easily as we don’t use it often. Can we use a trickle charger or something similar?
We can’t disconnect the battery as this messes up the car’s computer.
We can’t disconnect the battery as that messes up the car’s computer. We have to leave the car for many weeks at a time without running it.

Yes, you can use a trickle charger, but I wouldn’t recommend leaving it on the entire time though. Just hook it up about 15 minutes before you use the car again and it’ll crank right up for you.
try the alternator it may not be charging the battery.
after u disconnect the battery turn off all accessory’s and let it idle for a few mins
For twenty to fifty bucks, you can purchase a ‘battery maintainer’, which is mounted inside the engine compartment (they range in size from about the same size as a pack of cigarettes to a small paperback book). It is basically a trickle charger with an automatic shutoff. When you store the vehicle, you simply run an extension cord to the car and plug it into the plug coming out of the maintainer. It will keep your vehicle’s battery charged without overcharging it, and it is designed with long-term vehicle storage in mind, such as sports cars which are not used during the winter months.
that method will work if you park in a garage ,it you park outside you can purchase a solar charger that you plug into a cigarette lighter or power point inside your car and those can be left in all the time .those chargers are not that expensive i keep one on my boat ,haven’t charged that battery in two years
PUT A SOLAR CHARGER ON IT. IT JUST SITS ON THE DASH AN CONNECTS TO THE LIGHTER.
