nope, its fine.
It is only bad if you leave it plugged in while the car is off or if you try to charge it while the car is not running… they both drain the battery. Just dont use the charger in a car that is over 10 years old.. they were not built to handle the load on the electrical system.
your home charger is a smart charger and knows when the battery is fully charged but your car charger is dumb and keeps sending a charge to your phone even when its fully charged and in time will hurt your battery
If the car is on no if it is off yes it can drain the alternator. But other wise you have nothing to worry about. Once in a while if you get a defective car charger it will just blow a fuse. Now using the car charger all the time can ruin your phones battery. And might have to replace it.
Most car chargers have a special chip in them that regulate the electricity. As long as you buy one of decent quality, it should be fine. However, if you paid $2 for one… you might want to be careful… I have seen phones that have caught on fire because of especially cheap chargers without a regulating chip.
No. I have charged mine many times in my 1986 truck overnight, with the engine off. It doesn’t hurt a thing. The amount of electricity drawn from the car battery is so little, it is not noticeable.
